Dave grew up in Central Florida and studied business administration at the University of Central Florida. Soon after graduation, he secured his state license and began his insurance risk management career as a captive agent with the Florida Farm Bureau. David and his brother, Tom Johnson, worked together for several years at the Johnson and Johnson Agency building a successful book of business. After working in Central Florida for approximately ten years, Dave accepted a position with an independent agency in South West Florida where he honed his commercial lines sales and marketing skills. With over twenty years experience in commercial property and casualty sales management, David has a solid background in consultative commercial risk management. In 2014, Dave accepted a position with the Southern Insurance Group to help promote commercial insurance solutions for new and existing clients. The majority of his insurance production is derived from the SWFL market. He makes frequent visits to our Clermont home office to assist producers with prospecting, marketing and sales presentations.
